Seven states make up the UAE - Abu Dhabi (the capital), Dubai, Ajman, Sharjah, Fujairah, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah. Probably the most well known one is Dubai, with Abu Dhabi running a close second.
Wonderful hotels, all offer international cuisine, with something to suit everyone's palate.
Time to visit is between October and May, with the winter months being the most comfortable. In public places, wear long trousers (or long skirts) and tops that aren't sleeveless. A headscarf is advisable for ladies visiting mosques.
Nearly all the states have water sport facilities, golf courses, and excursions into the desert (e.g . wadi bashing). Visit Al Ain Zoo and see the white lion (an endangered and rare species).
Dubai - gold souk, spices souk, textile souk. Don't miss the fountain display (around 7pm) in the Dubai Mall - fabulous! And if you're not scared of heights, book tickets before you leave home for the Burj Khalifa experience. You will be whisked up in an elevator to the 124th floor and the views are astounding.
Sharjah - just a short ride from Dubai and not as expensive. Nice Corniche.
Abu Dhabi - this is just the place to go ice-skating. What a novel experience, something to tell the friends back home about! Situated on Yas Island is Ferrari World - an undercover theme park, except for the roller coasters - good day out. An evening stroll along Abu Dhabi's Corniche will help you digest your dinner.
Ajman - fantastic beach, with white gleaming sand and warm clear sea. About a five minute ride from Sharjah. The old fort has been turned into a museum, where archaeological artefacts, writings and ancient fire arms are on display.
Fujairah - visit the tourist night souk. Lots of goodies to buy, games and rides for the children.
Umm al-Quain - Dreamland, a huge aqua park, could be a good day out. This state is home to dhow building, fishing, falconry, and camel racing. Not really a tourist resort, but a place to leave the hussle and bustle behind.
Ras al-Khaimah - if you're visiting between September and April, go to the races (camel, that is), or visit the Manar Mall - lots of shops, six cinemas, water sports and entertainment centre.
After your holiday has ended, your clicktransfers.com will collect you from your hotel and take you to your departure airport. Spent up? No problem! The taxi has already been paid for before you left home!
