With stunning scenery, fascinating national parks, sun-baked beaches and warm weather all year round, it is no surprise that Tenerife is a firm favourite among holidaymakers.

One of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is awash with culture and there is no shortage of things to see and do. It has two airports, with travellers arriving at either Tenerife South or Tenerife North. Regardless of where you fly into, clicktransfers.com will be on hand to pick you up and take you to your resort, allowing you to start enjoying yourself straight away.

While it may be tempting to spend the duration of your trip lazing on one of the island’s plethora of beautiful beaches with a cocktail in one hand and a good book in the other, it would be a missed opportunity not to get out and about and soak up everything this spectacular island has to offer. Local taxi services are affordable and the drivers tend to speak good English, so travelling from A to B is no problem at all.

Alternatively you could jump on a bus, which are run by Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife, or Titsa for short. These are cheap and will take you to many of the island’s most attractive tourist hotspots, such as the Teide National Park and the Botanical Gardens in Puerto de la Cruz. You can benefit from 50 per cent savings on standard travel costs by purchasing a ‘bonobus’ ticket and anybody within your group can use this pass to get around.

The aforementioned Teide National Park is home to the mesmerising volcano Pica del Teide, which you simply must visit. This World Heritage Site is very special indeed and in many ways it symbolises what the Canary Islands are all about. They were formed in the Miocene Age, around 23 million years ago, and there have been 14 volcanic eruptions across the chain of islands since the 15th century.

At 3,718 metres tall, Mount Teide is the highest peak in Spain and is the third largest volcano on the planet. It hasn’t erupted since 1909 and there have been no signs to suggest further volcanic activity will occur anytime soon, so you can climb to the top without feeling nervous! The best way to do this is via cable car, which gives you wonderful panoramic views across the island.

While Mount Teide is undoubtedly the jewel in Tenerife’s natural crown, there are many smaller, but equally as intriguing points of interest for you to explore. You can visit the site of the oldest tree in Tenerife, which can be found in the quaint village of Icod de los Vinos, or you can capture the majesty of Iglesia de San Marcos - a gorgeous white painted church.

Loro Parque - which translates as Parrot Park - is another superb day out, especially if you class yourself as an animal and nature lover. The zoo is situated on the outskirts of Puerto de La Cruz and visitors will be amazed by the regular whale, dolphin and seal shows. Of course, the waters surrounding Tenerife are nice and warm, which means they provide a perfect habitat for all manner of exotic marine life, so keep your eyes peeled if you head out on a boat trip.

Santa Cruz is the capital of Tenerife and is well worth a visit too. Located in the north of the island, this town has a wide range of museums and galleries, as well as a spectacular harbour.

Tenerife is also renowned for its gastronomy and there are a multitude of excellent restaurants dotted across the island. There is an abundance of nightlife to enjoy, with the most popular bars and nightclubs being located in Playa de las Americas. Here you will find the famous Veronicas Strip, which is bursting at the seams with thriving nightspots, although if you fancy something a little less lively, there are lots of pleasant eateries and seaside drinking establishments in nearby Los Cristianos. An airport transfer to Playa de las Americas costs around £4.50 per person.

Tenerife really is a destination to suit all tastes and interests and clicktransfers.com will be waiting for you at the airport when you arrive.

Child Seats

The EU directive 2003/20/EC states that children must use an appropriate child seat until they reach the age of 12 years or until they reach a height of 135 cm. However for licensed taxis there is an exemption.

If no child seat is available, children of 3 years of age or over may travel as long as they wear an adult seat belt. Children under 3 years of age may be transported without a seat belt or safety harness as long as they travel in the rear of the vehicle.
