Corfu

Although Corfu's main airport is just a couple of miles south of Corfu Town, after a long awaited holiday, all you want to do is to get to your accommodation as soon as possible, unpack a few things, and get out and about and explore your new surroundings.

So, the fastest way to do this is book your clicktransfers.com personal taxi service, or minibus, before you leave the UK. Your personal driver will meet you in at the airport, take you directly to your hotel, and then you can start your holiday. But the best things are: you don't have to wait around for the transfer coach to fill up with the other passengers, then wait on the coach for them to be dropped off at their hotels; you don't have to join what might be a long queue waiting for the next taxi to arrive; you don't have to search for local public transport to see which will take you nearest to your hotel.

Your clicktransfers.com transport (for both journeys) is paid for in the UK. No trying to find your foreign currency in your luggage, or getting to grips with strange notes and coins. This is the perfect way to start your holiday.

Corfu is the land of soft, sandy beaches, warm blue seas, breathtaking sunsets, lemon, orange and olive groves, wild flowers growing in hedgerows, lush meadows, bays and coves.

Corfu Town (Kerkyra) boasts two forts, narrow streets and Venetian architecture. Visit the Villa Mon Repos, where Prince Philip was born, and stroll around the beautiful gardens and woodland. The palace lay derelict after the Greek monarchy was overthrown, but has now been restored and is home to a museum displaying many of the island's treasures. Craft shops abound in the town - and also bars and cafes. Shop or people watch - the choice is yours! St Spiridon's Church houses the island's mummified saint. An impressive church, both inside and out. But, if you go inside, please ensure you're wearing suitable clothes - not beachwear.

Thirteen kilometres from Corfu Town is the picturesque village of Pelakas. Perched on the side of a hill, it offers some lovely restaurants, dramatic sunsets, and the views from the 'Kaiser's Throne' will take your breath away. The sandy beach can be busy during the high of the season, but out of season, it's a great place to relax.

Paleokastritsa, 16km north west of Corfu Town, boasts lovely beaches with backdrops of trees, lemon and orange groves, cliffs, and trees. Take a half hour boat trip and visit the sea caves, or swim in the warm water, eat, drink and watch the world go back in one of the restaurants or bars.

Scuba dive, water-ski, paraglide, swim or just relax on the beach at Kassiopi. Afterwards, enjoy a meal of freshly caught fish at one of the restaurants. Walk round the harbour, see the fishing boats and the fishermen at work. In the evening, join the throng in the local bars. Be part of the scene.

A great day out for all the family is a visit to Aqualand. Giant slides, Jacuzzi, large shallow pool for small children, an adventure playground, bouncing castle, family rafting, and much, much, more.

So, these are just a few ideas to whet your appetite. Have a great holiday, but before you leave, don't book your clicktranfers.com transport to make your trip to Corfu the very best you could wish for.
